I didn't find this work through a training program. I found it through a microphone.

The first time I stepped on stage to raise money for a cause, something clicked inside me that I'd been waiting most of my life to feel. Growing up, I was the kid who got bullied. The one who spent years searching for his own voice. The one who doubted whether someone like him was built for something bigger.
Turns out I was. I just needed a stage.

What changed everything wasn't what the stage gave me — it was what it let me give to other people. Giving someone else a voice to be heard became the foundation of everything I do now. And it's the foundation People Made was built on.

Putting the people in the room first. The donor who gave more than she planned to. The volunteer running the bid sheet. The executive director who's been staring at next year's budget since January. Every one of them matters. Every one of them should walk out feeling it.

In 8+ years and 100+ events, we've raised over $2.1M+ for nonprofits nationwide — across healthcare, education, faith communities, arts, and animal welfare. The numbers are a byproduct. The real work is making sure a donor walks out remembering what they gave to — not just what they gave, We are made by people, Powered by Purpose.

Nonprofits do important work on budgets that are almost never enough. A strong fundraising event can change the trajectory of a year: a new program funded, a staff position filled, the lights staying on. That's what's actually at stake every time we take the stage. We don't lose sight of it. Your donors won't either.
